Green smoothies are the
answer to most people's "wish come true". I say that because they
offer so much. Like tons of fiber which is key to digestive
system health. I use the term
whole food blending
to reflect this. Basically, the difference
between juicing and whole food blending is that we love to including
the skin, flesh, core and seeds of fruits like apples or pears along
with the leafy greens like Swiss chard, spinach, kale or collard
greens. With a blend of 40% greens and 60% fruit and water, there is
tons of fiber in every drink.
Our collection of original recipes now totals 200.
Most people do not have enough
"green" in their diet. In raw form, we receive so
many vitamins and minerals
and
blood-building chlorophyll
and
Vitamin K
in our leafy greens. When we increase our raw food intake it means
being more "energized". With 95% of drinks being fruits and
vegetables (5% could be added healthy oils or sprouted flaxseed),
our smoothies are also
highly alkalizing. Good
health requires a blood pH of 7.36 (slightly alkalinic).
The reward
of accessing phytochemicals with beneficial soluble fiber is
two-fold. It
can help get rid of arterial plaque
and also
correct blood sugar imbalances.
I have learned so much by
speaking with some very resourceful people who use their
hi-speed blenders
to the fullest degree in the
pursuit of ultimate nutrition.
It's so nice to know that there are a variety of groups and
philosophies across the globe which are focusing on the benefits of
live enzyme food.
Many people are taking charge of their health
by investing in commercial blenders as well. I am noticing this
"movement" in southwestern Ontario simply by the
growing number of raw food chefs
who are graduating and now out there helping people to prepare some
amazing raw food dishes. Monthly potlucks and courses held in the
community are other examples. Please click on
Valuable Website links
to meet these people.
My own contribution, I say with
pride, is helping people to understand that their choice of blender
is absolutely critical for those who have decided that they
want/deserve the highest level of
micronutrients possible. It makes
sense to me if one is going to go the trouble and expense of
shopping for dark leafy greens and organic produce and getting into
a daily routine of whole food
blending. The message I'm sending
out loud and clear is that the 3.5
plus H.P. blender is far superior to the 3 H.P. machines.
Many people have attended the
Green Smoothie demonstrations
I've held in southwestern Ontario since the
summer and I'm happily witnessing my own movement with the growing
number of "proud owners" of the
Waring 3.5 Hi-Speed Blender I
introduced to them.
It's one thing to find the right
blender; however, the next challenge is making your awesome drinks
with the intention of getting a wide range of
vitamins like A, C and E,
the anti-oxidants and very important minerals like
calcium/magnesium and iron.
There are about 8 dark leafy greens which are frequently
being used in my recipes including
kale; collard greens; romaine;
spinach; lambsquarters; parsley; dandelion
and arugula.
Parsley and arugula can be considered as accent green
ingredients, similarly like my favourite mint,
for flavour and barley
grass, for nutrients. My newest
favourite ingredient is lemon balm.
If you would like to find out more,
please join us at an upcoming Green Smoothie demo where I know that
you will have fun learning and sampling some awesome, nutritious
drinks. For those of you who have already experienced this, take a
look at my
Green Smoothie for Health and Vitality page to see if
we've caught you enjoying a drink or making a toast! Everyone else,
here's what I suggest that you do. If you cannot
attend an event but would like to know how to go about following a
nutritional program using
blended whole foods, why
not book a
nutritional telephone consultation.
We will send you a
questionnaire first and then the next step is
selecting the time
to make the phone call so that you can happily get off to a good start.
If you have access to email, it will be a bonus because we can
immediately send you a synopsis of what's discussed and if not, we
can follow-up by another method. :o)
