1st Workshop:
"Get W.I.S.E. in 2009" held Mon. Aug 31st, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The reference to
wise
has a dual meaning. We'd like to enlighten you to access your
wise intuitive side
and at the same time to introduce you to the
WISE Nutritional Assessment
which is a program which essentially assesses your
nutritional strengths and weaknesses. Then, based on the findings, a
natural program is embarked upon to make improvements. Having a
workshop at the beginning of 2009 allows a class of 10 people to
discover their
New Beginning
by discussing what the options are for taking action and where to
begin.
Prior to the workshop, participants will be asked to complete the
WISE Questionnaire
using a scale of 0-5 to rate various symptoms. Once completed, the
answers will be put into a data base to produce a summary report
with graphs and charts. The information gleaned will
identify nutritional deficiencies
and
health symptoms linked to specific diseases
or conditions, eg. heavy metals or auto-immune conditions, etc.
Everyone will receive the basic report showing the problem areas via
email; whereas those who sign up for
Wise Plus Workshop
will receive a comprehensive written report at the workshop.
Whether certain
vitamins and minerals are being sufficiently provided in the diet is
of paramount importance. Information
on what could have led to a deficiency plus solutions in terms of
what to do about it will all be detailed in the
comprehensive report that WISE can generate. For instance, let's say
hypoglycemia was highlighted. Our reference library offers this
explanation for the
onset of hypoglycemia: "the cause could
be
parasite or candida-related;
there's likely
too little protein
in the diet; and probably an
adrenal/thyroid connection."
Furthermore, it's
recommended that fried or refined foods, sugar, alcohol, caffeine
and nicotine be eliminated. Towards healing, it's recommended that
people eat smaller meals frequently; have protein with carbs; adopt
good stress management; undergo a candida/parasite cleanse; and
incorporate green drinks; glandulars; essential fatty acids; zinc;
and Vitamins B and C.
The
Centre for
Healthy Living
prides itself in providing a wealth of information on any topic and
it comes as no surprise that we advocate
"food as a medicine". Expect to
hear our views about strengthening the body with more fresh leafy
greens and healthy salad oils; richly-oiled deep seawater fish;
organic meat and eggs; wheat-free grains; a greater variety of
fruits and vegetables preferably raw and definitely including
smoothies, etc. In February, we will offer some
Menu Planning classes
which will get down to the nitty gritty in shopping and menu
planning and a
special discount
will be offered to this class.
There are options for everyone to participate in having a
WISE Nutritional Assessment.
The WISE Basic workshop
from
11 a.m. to 1 p.m. costs
$20
and this includes receiving a summary of the results via email and
group discussion about how to address specific conditions in the
workshop setting. The
WISE Plus workshop
offers the full package of summary, graphs and charts plus the
reference guide (per sample shown above) for
$30. For those who choose to have a
follow-up appointment, an additional $10 will be rebated or
one can choose a blood type diet
CD instead. For more information,
